Specification-Identified Category

A Specification-Identified Category is a product-level category whose active identity policy uses Specification-defined identity. Products are identified by the category and configured technical identity attributes rather than Brand or Brand Owner.

Use this mode when a standard, grade, material, dimensions, tolerance, rating, or another stable technical specification determines whether two records represent the same product.

Different manufacturers can connect to the same shared product when the configured identity components match. Manufacturer remains an explicit company-product role; it does not become part of the checksum in Specification-defined mode.

Group-level identity attributes define the standalone product or shared group-of-variants identity. Variant-level identity attributes distinguish concrete variants inside that group.

Category identity rules are versioned. Changing them can mark existing identity as Stale and require recalculation.

Company Product Overlay is not implemented; company-specific commercial terms belong to catalogs and offers.
